journal 2

Sometimes, when I meet someone who does not know about me before I ask to the person

about her/him. The reason is that I do not know about that her/his information for age, live,

hobbies, common goals, culture, etc. if I do not know about her/him, we can not keep in touch

and we do not want to share about our life story or thinking each other. That means I cant have

a close relationship with that person.

One of interesting thing is one of my own experience. My personality is always being active

and full of liveliness, but sometimes my personality shows differently to others. For example, I

can come off as very quiet ant shy when meeting a new friend. If I meet a person who does not

know me, I tend to feel nervous and uncomfortable. For example, I felt the same way even when

I was young. However, one time I went to a restaurant and a man came up to me then asked me

some questions about me like, “what is your name?” “Where do you live?” “How old are you?”

“What is your religion?” “What are your hobbies?” “What were you feeling when you coming

here excited or nervous?”.etc. MY responses were too short or maybe just a yes or no and that

was it. Further, he said, “Are you not interested about me?” “Do you not have a question about

me?” As a result, he and I did not keep in touch any more.

I think about that commonly and my thoughts and feeling when I encounter someone

different from my self. My example is just that I meet people just by my friends introductions

but our sociality is not a simple. If I will be a social worker then I will meet many clients,

however the client should be feeling comfortable with me. So I think that I will make an effort to

feeling comfortable to my client by my experience and professor’s taught.
